It was in the late 1950s when the famous German “Economic Wonder” was also stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit of South Tyrol. Our parents established a complex with vacation apartments and rooms to let in the Schulweg in St. Pauls. We ourselves, our parents, and our three daughters grew up in this spirit. And that is why hospitality is so important to us.
Our father was an old-style farmer. He managed vineyards and apple orchards. He always had some good wine in the cellar, and his smoked bacon was a dream. With his “green thumb,” he cultivated the most-beautiful roses for his wife Irmgard – some of those roses still blossom every year, to everyone’s joy.
Our dear mother was always the soul of our operations, lovingly tending the house and garden. She exuded cordiality and friendliness, and was a paragon of hospitality up to her old age. She was dedicated to caring for her guests. It was a wonderful time!
On the basis of these values stretching back almost 50 years, in the year 2020, we decided to continue developing our hotel as a modern vacation destination and to establish a designer guesthouse. The former Sonnegg Inn was renovated and rebuilt by my husband and my son – my architectural “dream team” – with considerable attention to detail. Now known as the La Rosea, it represents a new concept, exclusive, and with lots of special little features. The building conforms to sustainable constructional principles, features high-quality furnishings, pleasant architectural notes, and an idyllic location.
We respect traditional values, but are also looking to the future: Since the spring of 2021, we have been welcoming our guests in a very stylish building with modern architecture. With deep historical roots – but still with all the wonderful modern features you would expect in the 21st century.
